The tune is also known in Eastern and South-eastern parts of Asia. In Malaysia for example it featured under the title “Suria” (the sun) in “Ahmad Albab” (Ahmad The Door), a drama-comedy film by and starring P. Ramlee about an arrogant and materialistic man who marries off his outspoken daughter to a poor villager to teach her a lesson.
